City to add Campus Corner extension to running trail

A new bike and pedestrian trail is scheduled to be extended along East Duffy street near Campus Corner this summer.


The trail, called The Legacy, will replace old sidewalks on Duffy Street, Asp Avenue, and Jenkins avenue.


Thursday's meeting was one of three set by Norman's Recreation and Parks Department and the Oklahoma City firm heading up the project. Before they begin construction they wanted to discuss what Norman residents are wanting from the project.


The Association of Central Oklahoma Governments hopes to connect the trails from Edmond to Oklahoma City and to Norman, forming a regional bike and pedestrian trail system.


The second meeting was scheduled for March 2, but due to the first meeting being delayed from the ice storm, the second meeting might be rescheduled.
